If You Hate Moving, Senior Living Can Help
Last month’s blog was about summer being a good time to move and it got me to thinking about how much I dislike moving and I figure I’ll like it even less in my “golden years”. This is where John Knox Village East & Meyer Care Center can help.
The benefits of calling a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) home is that relative to moving, it offers a couple benefits. First, we can typically extend a person’s independence in their apartment, thus putting off or avoiding a move altogether. We can extend independence by keeping people social and active, providing nutritious meals and offering baseline services like wellness checks and medication management to help keep people independent longer.
If someone is no longer able to live independently and they need to move to a different setting with more help, at John Knox Village East & Meyer Care Center, it’s as simple as a move to another area of our campus. You don’t have to pick up and move across town. And, our maintenance staff is more than happy to help you move those items that are coming with you to the other wing of our campus. Having the different areas of our campus with increasing help allows people to age in place and continue to call the place they’ve lived at home. This feature can be especially attractive when married couples are involved. If one spouse’s health declines at a faster rate than another, they can get the care they need in our Care Center, while the other lives nearby in their apartment.
Our goal at John Knox Village East & Meyer Care Center is to serve our residents in the least restrictive, safest environment possible. We know people are happier with more independence. We are able to provide that to our residents at multiple levels of need.
If you dislike moving like I do and you’re considering senior living, John Knox Village East & Meyer Care Center might be the solution for you. In all likelihood, it’s the last move you’ll ever have to make.
